Blink-182 are back in town with 'Bored To Death', the brand spanking new single since the band split with Tom Delonge. The single has finally hit the airwaves much to the excitement of fans and will be the trio's first single featuring Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba. 'Bored to Death' has a new/old feel to it. With much of the same effortless pop/punk vibe we know and love, a killer hook and the signature Travis Barker backbone, 'Bored to Death' has hit written all over it.
So what's new about Blink-182 with Matt in Tom's shoes? It's almost like the band has re-found its roots, back to the days of Dude Ranch but with a far more refined sound and more than a healthy dose of Alkaline Trio in the harmonies. It's safe to say the new addition to Blink-182 has had a positive influence on the band's musical direction, firmly answering the question of 'Will Blink survive without Tom?' with a resounding YES!
'Bored to Death' has all the elements we've come to love from a Blink-182 song – from a slow burn, muted intro, to a kick-ass middle eight, to a relentless chorus that's sure to please the crowds on the live circuit. If this is a taste of things to come, then we can only imagine what treats will be in store on the new album 'California' due this summer!
