Enema Of The State Turns 15

We celebrate 15 years of Enema Of The State

People across the World will be celebrating Enema of the State turning 15 years old today since it was released in June, 1999. This iconic record from Blink-182 was very popular when it was released and still remains popular among fans today. This is a classic example of how a single album can make a band a household name. Pop Punk fans will always remember and enjoy songs like “What's My Age Again” and "All The Small Things", which took over the radio waves in the late 1990s.

By the time the album was released, the band was already rocking the music universe with their classic hits such as “Dammit” and “Josie” but none of them topped the charts like the hits from Enema of State. This was happening at the time when the industry was overcrowded with bands coming out with the same rhythm and tunes. Fortunately, the trio: Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge rejuvenated pop punk and became one of the most celebrated bands of the time. Enema of the State guided the trio into superstardom.

Blink-182 managed to sell more than 15 million copies of the album to music lovers in all corners of the world. Enema of the State was produced by Jenny Finn who had also produced other successful albums such as Dookie by Greenday. What makes the band and the album stick into the minds of many was the album’s cover. The cover of the album featured porn star Janine Lindermulder wearing a nurse’s uniform. Janine also featured in Blink-182’s video for "What’s My Age Again?" which was overwhelmingly viewed on MTV.
