Speaking to Kerrang! Blink-182's bassist Mark Hoppus has announced plans to return to the recording studio early next year with the band to work on what will be their seventh studio album release.
The last release was Dogs Eating Dogs EP back in December 2012, with their sixth studio album being Neighborhoods in 2011.
Mark said "We haven't thought about any new songs yet. It always happens when the three of us are together in a room."
"Because when Tom lives in San Diego, Travis lives in Los Angeles and I live in London, we don't really talk all that much."
He added: "But then when we get in a room together, it all falls into place and we start making jokes. That's when we start writing songs and reconnecting with everything."
The new album should hopefully land in the late spring/early summer of 2014
With the announcement of blink-182 headlining Reading & Leeds Festival in 2014, Mark Hoppus mentioned on a radio show that they hope to have new album out before the festival.
"We are coming with new material. We go into the studio after the holidays, and the goal is to have an album out in time for the festival."
Reading & Leeds Festival take place on 22-24 August 2014.
