Pop Punk Bands Similar To Blink-182

Pop Punk Bands

Since they exploded onto the global music scene, Blink 182 have become the most commercially successful band in pop punk history, with their album Enema Of The State selling 15 million copies worldwide, bringing the genre into the public eye and paving the way for peers and contemporaries alike. This exuberant style of high speed, guitar driven, punk infused pop has spawned many bands like Blink, and if you’re a fan of one of the biggest names in the industry, then let me introduce you to a few more bands like Blink that you might just love.

Fountains Of Wayne are probably best known for their hook laden 2003 single ‘Stacey’s Mom’, a musical feast of pop punk perfection. Notably bassist and songwriter Adam Schlesinger has won Grammy and Emmy awards, and has collaborated on songs for Josie And The Pussycats and That Thing You do.

Florida band New Found Glory were formed in 1997 and emerged as the second wave of pop punk swept across America, cited alongside Blink as the key pioneers who helped create the blueprint for the genre.  The band’s energy on stage and sing-along anthems are hard to dislike, and comparisons with Blink have to be made. Now with eight albums under their belt and a cult following, New Found Glory’s ability to reflect realism and honesty in their lyrics, coupled with an infectious buoyancy to their music, has ensured this band’s longevity in the business.

In 2007, Bowling For Soup provided the theme song for Disney’s Phineas And Ferb, and also made an appearance in the episode Phineas And Ferb’s Quantum Boogaloo.
